I believe I was born to write. It’s the many hours that I spent reading, and writing my own prose and poetry while at school, that made journalism a natural career choice.
But, as with the curveballs that life often throws, I stumbled into the world of broadcasting at SABC KZN even before I qualified as a journalist. I must admit, I was bitten by the radio bug. The immediacy, dynamism and versatility of the medium helped me hone my skills and develop as a journalist.
After working in the radio news environment for the past 15 years, I am now a freelancer journalism lecturer at Rosebank College in Durban – training and shaping a new generation of journalists. Radio called out to me again this year – and I’m back at the SABC – this time as a producer on Lotus FM. Read more about my new adventure here….

This blog – which I started last year – remains my biggest blessing! I hope to inspire you and make you smile through my varied posts on life in South Africa as I know and love it!
Oh, and I’m a coffee addict. Cheers to that!
Love,
