I believe I was born to write. It’s the many hours that I spent reading, and writing my prose and poetry while at school, that made journalism a natural career choice. But, as with the curveballs that life often throws, I stumbled into the world of broadcasting at SABC News KZN even before I qualified as a journalist.
I must admit, I was bitten by the radio bug. The immediacy, dynamism, and versatility of the medium helped me hone my skills and develop as a journalist.
After working in the radio news environment for the past 20 years at SABC News and as a drive-time producer on Lotus FM, I’m excited to spread my wings to the marketing and communications sector as a senior copywriter. I love using words to move people and to convey meaningful messages.
I have always been a writer at heart – whether it was writing for radio or on my blog; my passion project that I started while lecturing journalism students for a few magical years.
This quote beautifully sums up my career so far, and motivates me daily in my journey ahead.
One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.
